![]() ![]() ![]() I'd move this one up in the rankings of top pins if I could. I could spend hours and hours on this pin. I'll forgive this machine for the fact that it has mono sound 10 years after stereo sound was introduced to pins because it is so much fun to play. The good thing is that once you lose all your balls & multiball is over, gameplay reverts to normal & you can go back to shooting for specific targets to advance the gameplay. The multiball has the potential to net you a lot of points but I personally don't really like it because the big points on multiball are for the ramps & it's very difficult to shoot ramps when you have 4 balls on the playfield at one time. ![]() It can be frustrating if you can't hit the targets that you need to in order to advance the game but very satisfying when you are able to hit those targets. You have to modify your gameplay to shoot for different targets depending on the point you're at in the game. Some games are set up where the only way to get a good amount of points is to shoot a ramp over and over again. I really like that there are different phases of the game where you're shooting for different targets. Starship Troopers was an awesome movie & it's an awesome pin! But, I do enjoy playing it and shooting it. I think if I had room for 50-100 pinball machines, I wouldn't mind this one. Not bad, but it doesn't make me want to try to get the next mode or anything like that, like how some games do. Its just to me this machines code doesn't really stand out among the others. Just to me, doesn't really seem anything special. While it attempts to do something a bit more unique. I understand most of the code, but I do think the code. However, as I said above the digital displays are a unique and interesting feature. But, the playfield art is nothing special. The cab looks alright, but to me a little stiff. As I said above the brain bug killing you is just too funny. I also enjoy the animations, and again those help lend to the energy of the game. It is a very fun game in small doses for me. While I do think the gameplay does get repetitive and nothing really makes me want to play one more game. Features double density ink technology no more washed out cheap translites. Please allow 5-10 days for production and preparation of your new translite. Some are funny, but all capture the feel of the movie. The Starship Troopers (Alternate) is an alternate pinball translite and an alternative art display for your Sega Starship Troopers backbox. But, the energy comes from the sound effects of you zapping and killing the bugs, and the bombs and explosions, and the callouts from the movie and /or voice actors for the pinball machine work so well. What I think works well with this game is its sense of energy. I also like the animation that happens when you fail to kill him. As I said, lots of toys on it and sculptures. Since I'm talking about the toys and mechs. But, its a strange gimmick and I don't think the game is better for it. But, for some shots if you get the timing right it can be useful. The 3rd flipper is a gimmick that I think the game would be better without. However, it just feels like it tries too hard and not everything meshes. ![]() Lots of toys, and a good amount of mechs. The pinball machine does a great job with the theming and I like how it incorporates the digital scoring on the playfield for the kills of the bugs, even if I don't pay much attention to it. I'm a fan of the film and I think its a really smart satire. In addition to new soundtracks, PinSound now offers products such as replacement CPU boards, shaker kits, speaker kits, headphone connectivity… These products are compatible with 150+ different pinball machines, including the latest STERN Spike pinball machines. This game is a mixed bag for me. Always with the same objective: to give you a totally new and immersive experience with your pinball machine. The PinSound adventure was just beginning!Īfter a very enthusiastic reception from the community, the two brothers continued to innovate to offer even more products. Passionate about pinball machines since childhood and coming from a family of musicians, Nicolas and Timothée are trained engineers, respectively in software and hardware.Īfter two whole years of development and sleepless nights, the alliance of this shared passion and their technical expertise gave birth to the very first replacement sound board for pinball machines: the “PinSound Board”. More than 10 years ago, Nicolas and Timothée, aka “The PinSound Brothers”, set themselves the challenge of designing a new sound board from scratch to improve the sound of their favorite pinball machine: The Twilight Zone. ![]()
